He was predeceased by: his parents, Enoch Albert Avery and Sheldon Inez Ricks Avery; his wife Robin Jones Avery; and his siblings, James A. Avery, Colleen Peterman and Marjorie Chapman.
He is survived by: his children, Deanne Avery of Thomaston and John Martin (Kim) of Thomaston; his sister Faye Cannon; and his grandchild Peyton Owens.
