He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Howard Nix and Mary Elizabeth Craven Nix; his wife Ruby Laverne Chamblin Nix; his children, Marianne Phagan, Cecil and Eugene Nix; and his grandson-in-law Chris English.
He is survived by: his brother Render Nix of Thomaston; his grandchildren, Rodney Phagan (April) of Meansville, Julie Phagan English of Meansville and Chad Johnson of Thomaston; his great grandchildren, Houston Hurt, Hunter English, Jacob Phagan, Nathan Ritch, Carlea Foster and Gabby Johnson; and his great great grandchild Weston Hurt.
