He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Aldine Helms and Marion Gertrude Helms; and his siblings, Sylvia Helms Tucker, Ted Helms and Lamar Helms.
He is survived by: his siblings, Elizabeth Helms Hewett, Brenda Helms Barfield, Pam Helms Boyt (David), Sammy Helms and Tim Helms (Deanna). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fletcher Day Funeral Home (628 N Church St, Thomaston, GA 30286). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at the South View Cemetery (942 S Church St, Thomaston, GA 30286).
