Alice Horne Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alice Horne (Thomasville, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 21, 2026 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mac Montgomery Bass and Ethel Parramore Bass; her husbands, Wendell Lane Johnson and Julian Horne; and her siblings, Ralph Bass, Maggie Benton, Lila White, Oneita Bass Valkenburg and Pauline Scully.
She is survived by: her children, Stan Johnson of Iron City, Sue Johnson Hitt (Bill) of Calvary and Monty Johnson (Donna Kay) of Thomasville; and her grandchildren, Ansley Johnson, Clarke Johnson, Allison Mallory-Luchini, Lane Johnson and Reese Johnson. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
Her contributions to the church extended beyond the classroom, as she also held the esteemed position of director for the Women's Missionary Union (WMU), embodying her commitment to serving others.
