He was predeceased by: his parents, Phyllis Blackwell-Neel and J. R. Blackwell; his brother Dean (Jeanie); and his stepchildren, Clint Burnette and Dana Gwynn Godwin.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Blackwell; his stepdaughter Donna Mies; and his siblings, Worth (Betsy), Marie (Ernie), David (Michael) and Sam (Sandy).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Allen & Allen Funeral Home (110 W Hansell St, Thomasville, GA 31792).
