She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Hendrix Thames, Sr. and Claude Dunn; her siblings, Walter H. Thames, Jr. (Joanna), Annie Clare Thames Peck (James) and James Richard Thames, Sr. (Dorothy); her sons, James Richard James Jr. and Claude Dunn Thames (Ruth); her siblings' children, William T Peck and Margaret Bitner; and her friend Betty Moore Durr of Thomasville.
She is survived by: her niece Joanna Thames Harrington of Brookshire; her great-niece Laura Megan Harrington of Brookshire, Texas.; her nephew James Henry Peck, Jr. (Gail) of Charlotte, NC; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Stephen David Peck (Sherri) of Fuquay-Varina, Lynn Peck Smith (Kevin) of Santa Fe and Thomas Christopher Peck; her nephews, John Walter Thames (Georgia) of Thomaston and Brian Jarrell Thames (Deborah) of Elberton; her great-niece Bethany Thames Riegel (Andy Riegel) of Swannanoa; and also Sheila of Pembroke.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Allen & Allen Funeral Home (110 W Hansell St, Thomasville, GA 31792). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the All Saints' Episcopal Church (443 S Hansell St, Thomasville, GA 31792).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Saints' Episcopal Church, The Halcyon Home for Battered Women, or the Salvation Army.
