He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Gilmer and Lois Gilmer; and his wife Teresa Owens. He is survived by: his son Brice Gilmer (Makayla) of Pavo; his grandchildren, Bryson, Brantley and Kinsley Gilmer; and his siblings, Janice Phillips (Sonny) of Tallahassee, Lynn Renaud (Paul) of Tallahassee, Charlotte Farlow (Jay) of Metcalf, Georgia, Mary Jackson of Brooks County, Margaret Marr, Elizabeth Spence Flowers, Debbie Ponzio, Sherry Vaughan (Wayne) of Atlanta and Steven Nevels.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Allen & Allen Funeral Home (110 W Hansell St, Thomasville, GA 31792).
