He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Small and Hilda Richardson Small; his daughter Cathy Smith; and his brother Hershel Small. He is survived by: his wife Maureen Murphy Small of Thomasville; his children, Keith Hamby of Thomasville, Georgia and Debbie Hamby Love (Johnny) of Ocklocknee, Georgia; and his brother Herman Small (Helen) of Dallas, Georgia. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
