He was predeceased by: his parents, Esther Sloan and Wilburn Sloan; his wife Linda Strickland; and his sister Mary Beasley. He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Breese (David) of Thomasville and Robin Gaston (Greg) of Thomasville; his grandchildren, Sloan Breese, Kaitlyn Breese Swain (Austin), Ryan Gaston and Grant Gaston; his great grandchild Brooks Swain; and his brother Irvin Sloan (Maxine). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
