He was predeceased by: his father Jessie Paul Hurst; and his siblings, Jeren Hasty, Linda Reagan, Leroy Hurst and Johnny Hurst.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Paul Edenfield Jr. and Jerry Hurst III; his wife Linda W. Hurst of Thomasville; his children, Bryan Thomas Hurst of Thomasville, Stephanie Edenfield (Paul) of Cairo, GA, Jerry W. Hurst, Jr. (Brandi) of Thomasville and Robin Kelly of Thomasville; his siblings, Jean Friedrich (Milton) of Berea, OH and Earl Hurst of Thomasville; and his grandchildren, Paul Edenfield, Jr., Jeremy Edenfield (Kayla), Nicholas Edenfield (Alexis), Kristen Edenfield, Kayson Edenfield, Joshua Hurst, Jacob Hurst, Jada Hurst and Andrea Greene (Josh). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
