It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverne Benton McHenry of Thomasville, Georgia, born in Pavo, Georgia, who passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Ellis Cannon and Laura Lee Reid Cannon; her husband Hayden "Mack" McHenry; her brothers, Charles Cannon, Leslie Cannon, George Cannon and Grady Cannon; and her former life partner Charles Donald Benton, Sr..

She is survived by : her sons, Charles Donald Benton, Jr. (Linda) of Coolidge, GA, Anthony Ray Benton "Tony" of Thomasville and Terry Duane Benton of Thomasville; and her sister Dorothy Peters of La Grange, GA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
