It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lynette Hitt of Thomasville, Georgia, who passed away on January 27, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Rease "Happy" Joye and India Lucile "Cile" Norton Joye; her grandparents, Fred Sellick Norton, India Whipple Norton, John Ervin Joye and Cornelia Player Joye; her husband John William Pierre "Bill" Hitt of Women's Rights; and her son Troy Savage Rease Hitt.
She is survived by: her children, John William Pierre "Bill" Hitt, III, Mysti Caprice Joye and Kimberly Hitt Atkinson; her daughter-in-law Sue Mallory Hitt; her sister India Marlene Joye; her grandchildren, Krysti Flowers Gambrell, Allison Mallory-Luchini, Alexa Hitt Dupriest, Alex Rease Rooster Hitt, Krystal Joye Tillman and Summer Joye Hitt Gunn; and her nieces, Gretchen King Bickel and Camille King. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, and three great-nephews and a niece.
