She was predeceased by: her mother Annie B. Merritt; her husband Walter; and her father William L. Merritt. She is survived by: her children, Joyce and Donald (Doretha); her sisters, Doris Mae, Dixie Ree and Helen Rose; her grandsons, Donte (Brady), Dylan and DaJuan (Tedrone); and her great grandchildren, Dior Alexander and DaLeiya.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (10526 US-84, Thomasville, GA 31757).
