He was predeceased by : his parents, Dollie Reese Richardson and William Richardson; his daughter Dorothy Richardson; his granddaughter Wynter Richardson; and his siblings, Pearl Couch, Betty Couch, Dorothy Couch, William Richardson and Michael Couch.

He is survived by : his children, Patricia Richardson Keeling of Dearing, Janice Howell (Christopher Reynolds) of Warrenton and Edward Garfield Richardson, III of Thomson; his siblings, Carolyn Couch, John Couch, Jim David Couch and Dan Couch; and his grandchildren, Stephanie Belanger, Michael Moon, John Johnson, Justin Reynolds, Christopher Reynolds, Levi Richardson, Cody Richardson, Dalton Richardson, Dakota Richardson and Lashawnie Powell. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Marshall Baptist Church (436 Marshall Church Rd, Thomson, GA 30824). A reception was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
