It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James A Talkington of Thomson, Georgia, who passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James A Talkington to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Talkington and Sibyl Talkington; his former wife Evelyn Hammett Talkington; and his brother Paul A. Talkington, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Dean Clarke Talkington; his children, Jimmy Talkington (Judy) and Penny Whitaker (Doug); his stepson Robert May (Leslie); and his grandchildren, Wes Whitaker (Chelsea), Ashton Knuth (Tom), Michael Talkington (Emily), Harris Richards (Crystal), Jonathan Talkington (Dawn), Will Richards (Jeri Lyn), Danielle May and Zane May. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens (2235 Washington Rd, Thomson, GA 30824).
