With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jean Payton of Thomson, Georgia, who passed away on February 20, 2023 at the age of 80. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jean Payton to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her siblings, Jeanette Tapley (Herman), Rev. Edward Mimbs (Marjorie), Sandra Johnson, Charlene Grantham and Patricia Lloyd.
She is survived by: her nephew Danny Elliott (Deborah); her children, Daryl Payton (Irene) of Newport News, VA, Donita Oswald (Paul) of Milford, NE, Dorene Gates (Steve) of Broomfield, CO and David Payton (Sheila) of Holiday, FL.; her grandchildren, Mike, Krystyn, Joseph, Nicolette, Derek, Natalie, Alexandra and Joshua; and her great grandchildren, Wells, Mason, Gracee, Ramsey, Emma, Livie, Jackson, Jameson, Asher, Kellen, Kenley, Trigg, Shae, Dion and Taya. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Donations may be made in her honor, in lieu of flowers, to the Washington Heights Baptist Church building fund, or to The Gideon's.
