He was predeceased by: his parents, William Frank Payne and Mittie Baker Payne; and his siblings, William "Billy" Hugh Payne, Benjamin "Benny" Franklin Payne, Robert Keith "Butch" Payne, Betty Jean Crumbley, Barbara Sue Hickey Archer and Bonnie Marie Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Farmer Payne of Tifton; his children, Bryan Payne of Tifton and Bridgett Payne Stroud (Chip) of Jacksonville, Florida; his grandchildren, Bryson Payne, Lauren Stroud and McKenzie Stroud; his brother Bobby Joe Payne; his sisters-in-law, Sherry Harper of Tifton and Wanda Payne Parsons; and his nephew Blake Payne.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home For Funerals (420 Love Ave, Tifton, GA 31794). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.
