He was predeceased by : his parents, James E. Sumner and Ruth Inez Reagan Sumner. He is survived by : his wife Barbara Conger Sumner; his children, Joe, Molly Sumner of Martinsville, Virginia, Jodie and Matt Davis of West Berrien; and his siblings, Don (Linda Sumner), Sandra (Tom Surles), Dale Sumner, Bonnie (Joe Robinson) and Buster (Shirley Conger).
