He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Janet Reed McGill of Blakely; his children, Mark (Myra McGill), Becky (Steve Barber), Laurie (John Bolen) and Kelly (Stanley Dean); his mother J. E. McGill; and his siblings, Millard McGill, Harold McGill, Mary Sue Polk and Doris Jones. He was also cherished by 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers or memorials, it was his desire that you practice random and unexpected expressions of love and compassion to others on a continuing basis.

“To the McGill family. It has been such an honor to live directly across the street from home for the past 45 years. Mr. McGill was such a positive and energetic figure in our neighborhood and he will be missed so very much. A life well lived is just the start of how much he did for his family, his church, his neighbors and friends. He had a great and positive influence on my life and that will continue through his wonderful children and family. My prayers are with you all. Franklin Guill”
