He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Saxton and Hattie Faye Matthews Saxton; his wife Sara "Sally" Joyce Conley Mullis; his stepson Randall Mullis; and his siblings, Billy Saxton, Ronald Saxton, Alice Brantley and Diane Saxton.
He is survived by: his children, Marcy Carver of Ashburn, Cathy Saxton of Ty Ty, Mike Mullis of Tifton and Raymond of Tifton; his daughters-in-law, Sharon Mullis of Tifton and Ann Mullis of Tifton; and his sister Elaine Vaughn of Moultrie. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
