He was predeceased by: his parents, Bartow Alton Rakestraw and Mary Elizabeth Cottle Rakestraw; and his brother Wallace A. Rakestraw. He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Rakestraw of Tifton; his children, Kelly McKellar of Tifton and John; his daughter-in-law Becca Rakestraw of Tifton; and his grandchildren, Walker McKellar, Lily McKeller and JD Rakestraw.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home For Funerals (420 Love Ave, Tifton, GA 31794). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
