He is survived by: his wife Faye Whitfield Herron; his son Alton Howell Herron, Jr. (Hal); his grandson Alton Howell Herron, III (Howell); his great grandchildren, Alton Howell Herron, IV and Mary Caroline Herron; his daughter Lynn Kesler (Bryan); his grandsons, Corey Roberts (Renae), Connor Roberts (Maria) and Cole Roberts; his great grandchildren, Sarah Roberts, Anna Roberts, Madelyn Roberts and Emily Faye Roberts; his son Chad Herron (Renee); his grandchildren, Walker Herron and Ally Herron; his brother Allan Herron; and his caregivers, Susie Adams, Rebekah Adams and Jan Cason.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Whitlock Mortuary, Inc. (120 Rose Ln, Toccoa, GA 30577). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Ebenezer Baptist Church (49 Rose Ln, Toccoa, GA 30577). A burial was held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the Stephens Memorial Gardens (3650 GA-17, Toccoa, GA 30577).
