He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Mize and Ethel Tomlin Mize Hill; his wife Betty Howard Mize; his siblings, Herbert William Mize, Arlin Mize and Violet Mize; and his sons-in-law, A. J. Miness, Buren Crunkleton and Jerry Kelley.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Crunkleton of Eastanollee, Teresa Kelley and Dwain; his daughter-in-law Gail Mize of Toccoa; his grandchildren, Angie McGee, Jennifer McCollum, Michael, Brandi Mize, Neal, Kristen Sheppard, Matt and Jamie Mize; his great grandchildren, Allyson McCollum, Dejanea McGee, Rachel McCollum, Ryan McCollum, Austin Mize, Cole Mize, Raegan Mize, Brady Sheppard and Bryson Whiten; and his brother Robert Mize of Demorest, Georgia. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
