He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Chafin and Margaret Chafin; his sister Claudia Emmerson; and his sibling's children, Jeff Adinaro, Carole Lynch and Connie Culver.
He is survived by: his children, Tanya Chafin (Barry) of Flowery Branch, James Berry (Paula) of Dahlonega, Jennifer Chafin of Toccoa, Scott Coker (Ashley) of Dahlonega and Brittany McMillian (Josh) of Royston; his siblings, Teresa Burnett (Larry) and Danny Chafin; his niece Maggie Adinaro; and his close friend Alfred Summerour. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spend a little time in the woods or share a bag of boiled peanuts with someone you love, just as he would have wanted.
