He was predeceased by: his parents, John Stamey and Rose Ellen Stamey of Toccoa, Georgia.; his parents-in-law, Truette and Georgia Faith Coker; his brother-in-law Bobby Coker (Cobina); and his nephew Tim Coker.

He is survived by: his wife Frances Coker Stamey; his children, Russell (Leslie) and Natalie; his sister Nancy Stamey; his grandchildren, Jackson, Sarah, Christine, Gabriella and Sophie; and his nephew Bryan Coker (Deena).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Autism Speaks or the American Heart Association.
