He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Phillip Dean and Whitman Fay Smith Dean; and his siblings, Margaret Dean, Mary Dean, John Dean, Thomas William Dean and Edwin Frank Dean.
He is survived by: his sons, Christopher Dean of Toccoa and James H. Dean, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Kimberly of Martin; his daughter Carrie Dean of Toccoa; his grandchildren, Chelsea Dean, Britney Dean and Marissa Dean; his sisters, Gladys Bolmon of Toccoa, Fay (Dan Rickman) and Sara Ruth Kinney (Rebecca Bohannon) of Mt. Airy; and his sister-in-law Geraldine Dean of Lavonia. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home (90 S Pond St, Toccoa, GA 30577). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the same location.
