He was predeceased by : his parents, Ben Jones Simmons and Mary Elizabeth Whitfield Simmons; his wife Mary Nell Kellar Simmons; his brother Clinton Simmons; and his grandsons, Dameon Roach and Matthew Sabato.
He is survived by : his sons, Christopher (Maca Simmons), Kenneth (Barbara Watkins), Sammy (Susan Watkins), Junior (Lisa Watkins) and Marvin (Ginger Roach); and his siblings, David Simmons of Toccoa, Ben Douglas Simmons of Toccoa, Delores Simpson of Toccoa, Carol Holland of Toccoa, Barbara Hill of Toccoa and Debbie Youngblood of Toccoa. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren.
