He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wilbur Laird and Jewel Reeves Laird; his brothers, James Edward Laird and John Laird; and his brother-in-law Talmadge Cole.
He is survived by: his siblings, Eloise Laird Cole of Carnesville and Gene (Angie Laird); his sister-in-law Joan Laird of Lavonia; and his nephew Rev. Alan Cole. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
