It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Roger Smith Sr. of Townsend, Georgia, who passed away on August 1, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Gary is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Gary's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Kimberly Lynn Turner. He is survived by: his son Roger Smith (Kelly) of Shellman Bluff; his granddaughter Ava Smith; his mother Sherma Turner Smith of Savannah; his siblings, Gregory Smith (Pam) of Jesup and Sharon Longworth of Savannah; and his close friend Mavis Gazaway of Montgomery, Ala.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
