He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Elizabeth Hicks. He is survived by: his children, Sue Smalley (Tony) of Trenton, Veronica Sain of Ringgold and Larry Bailey (Liz) of Grand Bay, AL; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Bailey, Christopher Sain, Jesse Sain, Josh Smalley, Billy Abline, Nicole Abline and Jessica Bellamy. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
