He was predeceased by: his wife Imogene Smith; his son Kelly M. Smith; his parents, J. E. Smith and Janie Smith; his brothers, Pete Smith (Janie) and Dewey Smith; and his brother-in-law Ronnie Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Vaniecia Ferguson (Tim), Abby White (Chris) and Matthew Smith Sr.; his siblings, Brent Smith (Mary Jo) and Sue Smith; and his grandchildren, Jesse, Toby, Jordan, Alison, Brittany, Matthew and Jacob. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home - Bryant (1474 AL-73, Bryant, AL 35958). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
