He is survived by: his wife Arvella Gertrude Starling; his children, Angela Starling, Marcus William Starling (Cordia) and Sonia Yvette Starling; his grandchildren, Russell Wheeler IV (Charlene), Attorney Ryan Wheeler, Shannon Chatmon (Tory), Mallory Starling (Ibrahim Songowa), Justin Broome (Deanna) and Jessica Broome; his great grandchildren, Chai, Rhylie, Russell Wheeler V, Micah Dembele, Jaylynn, Nora, Arianna Broome, Jayden and Maliyah Chatmon; and his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Scott, Georgia Harris (Hobert) and Lillian Miller. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
