With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Phillip Lamar Bryd of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, born in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 18, 2026 at the age of 46. Though Phillip may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Phillip touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his father Ronald Sammie Byrd, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Carolyn Walston Byrd; his wife Linda Winfree Byrd; his children, Philip Gage Byrd, Dewey Sidney Byrd, II and Sally Rose Byrd; his grandchild Freya Joann Lynn Brown; and his siblings, Ron Byrd, Chris Byrd and Lisa Nelms. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
