We announce the death of Emily L. Pyron of Tyrone, Georgia, who passed away on August 5, 2026, at the age of 90. Emily will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, L. E. McElwaney and Cora McElwaney; her husband Charles Ellis Pyron Jr.; and her son Steven Ellis Pyron. She is survived by: her daughters, Shelah Pyron and Valerie Poitevint (Scott); her grandchildren, Jonathan Cannon (Jennie), Stephanie Whatley (Christopher), Ashley Kesler (Scotty), Jesse Poitevint (Kellie) and Jeremy Poitevint (Jewel); her great grandchildren, Grayson Cannon, Lee, Lucinda, Lane, Lauren Whatley, Miles, McCoy Cross and Elsie Poitevint; and her sister Sally Slaton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
