He was predeceased by: his father Amory (Ruth Philpot Speight); his wife Patsy; his brothers, Amory and Joe; and his grandson Chuck Speight.

He is survived by: his children, Patti Davis of Unadilla, Charlie Speight (Cathy) of Unadilla and David Speight (Wendy) of Atlanta. He is also survived by five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Speight Residence (1855 Liberty Church Rd, Pinehurst, GA 31070). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Unadilla (911 Cherry St, Unadilla, GA 31091). A burial was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Walnut Cemetery (716 Cherry St, Unadilla, GA 31091).
