It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Lee Tarpley of Valdosta, Georgia, born in Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his former wife Jeane Broyles Tarpley; his parents, Marvin Harold Tarpley and Eunice Mathilda Tarpley; his brother Peter Harold Tarpley; and his brother-in-law Ed Broyles.
He is survived by: his wife Dian Tarpley of Valdosta; his children, Brad (Mary Clare Tarpley), Lee (Maurie Tarpley), Shanna Ziolkowski of Valdosta, Brett (Sarah Chism) and Tuzer Chism of St. Mary's; his grandchildren, Maggie Tarpley, Luke Tarpley, Tallen Tarpley, Reaves Tarpley, Braylee Chism, Hudson Chism and Bennett Chism; his siblings-in-law, Donna Weldon (Ronnie), Dee Dee Harris, Dean Harris (Donna), Raven Tarpley, Dr. India Broyles (Bob Shafto) and Rachel Broyles; his parents-in-law, Bobby and Vickie Moore; and his pets, Rugie and Mulberry. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
A reception will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Of Valdosta Fellowship Hall (220 N Patterson St, Valdosta, GA 31601).
