He was predeceased by: his parents, Byron Lyon and Ruby Chapman Lyon; his wife Helen Bruce Lyons; his son-in-law Gary Pierce; and his sisters, Grace Payne (Gene), Clair Brooks and Geneva Conoly (Bill).
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Lyons Pierce, Kathy Lyons Smith and Karmen Lyons Browning (Russell); his grandchildren, Tom Bush Smith (IV), Lauren Ashley Pierce (Taran Alderman), Chance Morgan Smith (Thomas Hart), Johnathan Mawdsley Pierce (Katie), Sara Helen Browning Cooper (Chase) and Gracie Browning Rybicky (Dillon); his grandchild-in-law Jacquie Thigpen; his siblings-in-law, Leajar Brooks and Mary Kate Bruce; and his close friend Beau. He is also survived by his dog; and numerous nephews and nieces.
