He is survived by: his children, Derek Connell of Nashville and Mindy Ranger of Lakeland, Georgia; and his siblings, Carlton "Buddy" (Myrtice Connell) and Robbie (Tammy Simpson). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
