He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Grice and Adel Grice; his wife Faye Marie Hagan; his grandson Chase Grice; and his siblings, Joyce, Florence, Lois, Benny, Bernard and Gene.
He is survived by: his children, Joy Bassford (Bud) of Valdosta, GA and Dale Grice (Elaine) of Valdosta, GA; his grandchildren, Trey Bassford (Shea), Mark Bassford (Morgan), Brett Bassford (Ashlee) of Valdosta, GA, Brittany Howell (Danny) of Spanaway, WA, Carelee Douglas of Valdosta, GA, Derrick Cook (Megan) of Fayetteville, GA and Brian Cook of Long Island, NY; and his great grandchildren, Katie Ruth, Blake, Mason, Stella, Mae, Allison, Austin, Annie, Jackson, Avery, Brylee, Nolin, Lane and Bree. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Carson McLane Funeral Home (2215 N Patterson St, Valdosta, GA 31602). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
