He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Patterson and Fannie Patterson; his siblings, Eddie Patterson, Eva Canter and Jackie Miley; his brother-in-law Charlie Miley; his nephew Sonny Williamson; and his granddaughter Alissa Rae Terrell.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Smith Patterson; his children, Dana (Glenn Gibbs), Deanna Turner of Valdosta, Daphney Terrell of Hahira and Daniel, Jr. (Kathryn Patterson); his grandchildren, Amy Nellis of Adel, GA, Jacob Gibbs of New York, NY, Gray of Hahira, GA, Dylan of Hahira, GA and Deen Patterson of Hahira, GA; and his sisters, Barbara (Blake Pearce) and Laura (Billy Spells). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
