We are sad to announce that, on February 15, 2026, at the age of 85, John Sumner of Valdosta, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though John may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Sumner and Lucille Mathis Sumner; and his brothers, Wayne Sumner, Eugene Sumner and James Ray Sumner.
He is survived by: his sons, Wade Sumner (Brandi) of Valdosta, GA and Derrick Sumner of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Aubrey Michek and Trenton Brooks; and his brother Roy Sumner of Adel, GA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
