He was predeceased by: his parents, Royal Petty and Caroline Johnson Petty; his daughter Alonda Petty Daniel; and his brothers, Tom Petty, Authur Petty and Walter Petty.

He is survived by: his wife Linda H. Petty of Valdosta; his children, Kloan (Mike Bass), Kline (Renee Petty) and Mitzi (Brad Hutcheson); his grandchildren, Brandon Petty (Sarah) of Cumming, Lyl Taylor (Logan) of Canton, Sierra Petty of Woodstock, Kaitlyn Bass of Hahira, Alyson Carreno (Tony) of Virginia, Briggs Hutcheson (Anna) of Oakwood, Bryce Hutcheson of Cumming, Bradley Hutcheson of Cumming and Brody Hutcheson of Cumming; his great grandchildren, Grayson Petty, Everleigh Taylor and Noelle Carreno; and his siblings, Clayton Petty of Folkston, Rod Petty of Folkston, Jimmy Petty (Ann) of Folkston and Ruby Sikes (Everette) of Folkston. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
