It is with sadness that the passing of Lou Nelle Lightsey of Valdosta, Georgia is shared. Lou, born on May 19, 1929, passed away on September 5, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Debbie Grimes Nash and Eddie Clements Nash; her husbands, Maurice Thomas Sr. and Luther Lamar Lightsey; her sons, Eddie Thomas, Ted Thomas and Reece Thomas; and her grandchildren, Jessica Thomas, Stephanie Thomas, Scott Thomas and Jamie Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Edwina Hiers of Valdosta, Becky Webb (Franklin) of Lake Park, Julia Brown of Valdosta and Earl Thomas (Johanna) of Valdosta. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Music Funeral Services - Valdosta Get (3831 N Valdosta Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Music Funeral Services - Valdosta (3831 N Valdosta Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at the Brushy Creek Cemetery (430 Brushy Creek Church Rd, Sparks, GA 31647).
