He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Lee Long and Ethel Long; his son Kevin Lee Long; and his siblings, Willis "Bobby" Long, William "Billy" Long and Annalee Miller.

He is survived by: his wife Sue Phelps Long; his daughter Laura Walker (Michael) of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Alden Walker of Orlando, Abigail Chastain (Trey) of Valdosta and Anna Kate Pearson (Derrick) of Valdosta; and his brothers, James "Jimmy" Long and Edward "Eddie" Long (Shelby). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
