We announce the death of Dorothy Atkins (Vidalia, Georgia), who passed away on June 20, 2026, at the age of 95. Dorothy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Roney Allmond and Lucinda Adams Allmond; her husband Lamar Atkins; her great grandchildren, Jake and Cole Mimbs; and her siblings, Muriel Allmond Wilkes, Lucindy Allmond Hightower, Hazel Allmond Thigpen, Patsy Allmond Campbell and J. E. Allmond.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah Atkins Mimbs (Roy) of Montgomery County, Jerry Atkins (Karen) of Dublin and Larry Atkins (Lizzie) of Waycross; her grandchildren, Melanie Hutcheson (Ricky) of Montgomery County, Darrell Mimbs (Maranda) of Vidalia, Jeremy Atkins of New York, Ian Atkins (Samantha) of Savannah, Lydia Atkins of Waycross, Tyler Young, Vendela Young of Dublin, Corbin Allen of Waycross, Calista Allen of Waycross and Zeke Allen of Waycross; her great grandchildren, Breannah Hutcheson, Lane Mimbs and Clay Mimbs; and her siblings-in-law, Joseph Atkins (Charlotte) of Guyton, Mary Williams (Chuck) of Sugar Hill and Rita Watson (Charles) of Dublin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
