The family announces the passing of Eloise Thigpen of Vidalia, Georgia on September 27, 2026. Eloise, born on November 24, 1940, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Keith Thigpen; her son Clifton Keith "Mister" Thigpen, Jr.; and her parents, Hoke C. Powell and Lizzie Lee Gibbs Powell. She is survived by: her daughter Leigh Thigpen of Augusta; her granddaughters, Meagan Shaw Gourley (B. J.) of Blue Ridge and Morgan Shaw Howell of Augusta; her great grandchildren, Nathan Gourley, Liam Howell, Emma Howell, Chris Judkins and Lincoln Judkins; and her sister Janice Powell Horton of Mt. Vernon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home (310 North St W, Vidalia, GA 30475). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon (120 S Railroad Ave, Mt Vernon, GA 30445).
