Jennie Hamilton Obituary

Mrs. Jennie Burgamy Hamilton, age 72, of Vidalia, died Wednesday evening, February 28, 2024, at her residence after a brief illness under the care of Community Hospice. She was a native of Americus and Albany before moving to Vidalia. Mrs. Hamilton graduated from Americus High School. She worked as an office manager and bookkeeper in the medical field, a bridal consultant, and was later co-manager of a retirement facility. She was a member of the Junior Service League in Americus and the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Vidalia. In her spare time, she loved to be outside, working in her yard, going to the beach, and walking. She faithfully read her Bible and devotionals and especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Hamilton is preceded in death by her parents, John Burgamy and Eula Fuller Burgamy.

Her family includes her husband of twenty-four years, Bobby Joe Hamilton of Vidalia; two daughters, Toni Burmeister and husband Terry of Florence, South Carolina and Jennifer Benns and husband Ryan of Butler, Georgia; one sister, Jane Hainline and husband Don of Manchester, Georgia; three grandchildren, Emory Burmeister, Catherine Alexander and husband Jess, and Charles Benns; one great-grandchild, Lee Alexander; Bobby's children, Kim Hamilton and Kathy Brown and husband Jason all of Vidalia; Bobby's grandchildren, Robert Riner, Conley Brown and Reece Brown; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning, March 6th at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation at 10:30 until just prior to the service.

The memorial service will be Wednesday morning, March 6th at 11:00 at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation.
