We announce the death of Nora Melissa Tharpe of Vidalia, Georgia, born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on May 30, 2026, at the age of 62. Nora will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Arthur Tharpe, Sr. and Nora Lee Evans Tharpe; her sister Dorothy Ann Buchanan; and her sister-in-law Elaine Fazio Tharpe. She is survived by: her children, Marie Johnson (Jonathan Powell) and Adam Taliaferro of Manchester; her grandchildren, Jake Faircloth, Aylayna Taliaferro, Bella Johnson and Michael Boone; her great grandchild Maggie Faircloth; and her siblings, Donna F. Sanford (Kenneth) of Stockbridge, Vonda Michelle Carey (Andy) of Glenwood, Wayne H. Roden (Teresa) of Lawrenceville and George A. "Junior" Tharpe of Vidalia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
