He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Clark Godfrey and Ola Mae Nelson Godfrey; his son Richard "Ricky" Godfrey; and his brothers, George Godfrey and Robert "Bobby" Godfrey.
He is survived by: his wife Camilla Kate Godfrey; his son Gary; his daughter-in-law Sherry Godfrey of Hiram; his sister Myra; his brother-in-law Richard Kimmerling of Centre, Alabama; his brother Frank "Nick" Godfrey of Gadsden, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Jessi, Jenny, Meghan and Bentley. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
