He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Matthewis Strowbridge Sr. (Doris Strowbridge) and Doris Jenkins Strowbridge; his wife Barbara Jordan Strowbridge; his children, Eric Douglas Meyers, Sonya Bradford (Kelvin), Veronica Meardith (Sherman), James III Strowbridge (Catina) and Jeremy Strowbridge; his sisters, Loretta Garner, Mary Jarvis, Veronica McIntyre (John), Diane Dukes, Linda McDowell and Gwen Godfrey of Chesapeake, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Martika Archie, Rashad Bradford, James Strowbridge IV, Chelsey Strowbridge, Jaylen Mack, Malik Hickson, Martavious Bradford, Destiny Culbreath, Jayla Strowbridge and Jordan Meardith. He was also cherished by six great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
As a result of the Covid-19 outbreak, for the safety of family and community and in an effort to practice social distancing, a private, family graveside service to be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 2:00 P. M. at Brinson Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
